Part 1
For most businesses or education providers, eg schools and colleges refurbishing outdated washrooms can be a very anxious time. Once you have decided upon a budget and a proposed layout at this point you should be contacting Oakleaf Washrooms. If you are a business manager or a bursar you may not have had to commission this type of project before and can be very daunting but this is our main field of work.
We are constantly asked if we will carry out all the works involved in a washroom refurbishment and the answer is absolutely! It would be a very time consuming and expensive project to have multiple trades individually contracted to carry out the works. That is why we have a unique workforce with experienced multiple trades.
There are many aspects to consider for instance the ratio of toilets per number of children/adults, government guidelines and best practice. All dependent upon the age of the users if it is a school.
If you are refurbishing a secondary school you will be looking to ensure the cubicles and sanitaryware are future proofed and indestructible. No touch features can be included to limit the spread of germs etc. Timed lighting and odour control is a very popular feature.
When you make the call to meet with one of our Estimators a site survey will be carried out with your project managers and we will discuss your project and the best layout to maintain the maximum use of the space.
Then what happens? Part II will be published in the coming weeks….
